Part living museum, part avian medical facility the Carolina Raptor Center nurtures insured eagles, owls, falcons, hawks, vultures and other raptor species back to health. You can follow them on their path to recovery or watch them when they perform their gravity defying flights outside their cages.
Part living museum, part avian medical facility the Carolina Raptor Center is beautifully situated on 57 acres in the → Latta Plantation Nature Preserve.
Along a ¾-mile Raptor Trail, visitors can admire eagles, owls, falcons, hawks, vultures and other raptor species, who were injured and are now being nurtured back to health by a dedicated and passionate team at the Carolina Raptor Center. Information plaques at the bird enclosures allow visitors to learn about the specific bird on display.
The Carolina Raptor Center also offers regular shows such as Meet the Raptor, Vulture Feeding or Free Flying, where you can watch raptors perform their gravity defying flight in their natural habitat outside of their cages.
Some of these shows are included in the admission, others are offered at an additional fee.
The Carolina Raptor Center is a great place to learn about raptors and watch them fly outside their cages. Trails are covered with wood-chips.
